
SAN JOSESharks defenseman Douglas Murray spoke with reporters on Saturday morning to provide an update to his injured left hand, which has kept him out of the lineup for the last six games.
He doesnt have a set date to return just yet, but said that hes pretty close.
Murray has been skating hard, in order to keep his cardio up so that when hes ready to return, he can jump back in without too much of an adjustment.

Ive got to stay in shape. Ive been skating and working out in the gym, he said. It feels like its summertime again.
Typically, pain tolerance isnt an issue for Murray, but if its enough pain that you cant actually do what you need to do, its a problem, he said.
You dont want to be a liability out there. You still need to be able to shoot and pass and everything. There are a lot of good players on the team, so if you cant do your job out there, youre better off not playing.
Its been frustrating for the 6-3, 240-pound Murray to watch from the sidelines.

You always want to be out there, and to be honest its really weird watching, he said. I dont get nervous when I play, but I get nervous in the stands, which is the weirdest feeling.
Murray injured the hand blocking a shot on Dec. 3 against Florida. In 23 games this season, he has three assists and 19 penalty minutes.
