Keep an eye on…
Sharks: Brent Burns. The Sharks defenseman was sloppy with the puck minus regular partner Paul Martin on Saturday, finishing with a -3 rating. After a dominant first four games in which he looked like a borderline Norris Trophy candidate, Burns will have to be better against the Rangers as Martin is still out.
Rangers: Oscar Lindberg. A former second round pick of the Coyotes, the 23-year-old became the first Rangers rookie to score a goal in New York’s first three games of the season. In six games, he has a team-leading 5 points (4g, 1a).
Injuries/Scratches
Sharks: Joonas Donskoi (lower body), Ben Smith (upper body), Paul Martin (lower body) and Logan Couture (fractured right fibula) are out.
Rangers: None.
Season series
The Sharks and Rangers don’t meet again until March 19 at SAP Center.
Odds and ends
*Bryan Lerg was recalled from the Barracuda on Sunday. In his first three AHL games this season, Lerg, the captain of the Barracuda, has 2 goals.
