Former Shark re-signs with Chicago

Former Sharks forward Jamal Mayers has re-signed with the Chicago Blackhawks, CSNChicago.com has confirmed. The one-year, 600,000 contract was originally reported by RDS in Canada.

Mayers, 37, had six goals and nine assists for 15 points and 91 penalty minutes in 81 games for Chicago last season.

The burly winger spent one season in San Jose in 2010-11, recording 14 points (3g, 11a) and a team-leading 124 penalty minutes.
