Blake severely cut by Burns' skate

Anaheim Ducks forward Jason Blake suffered a lacerated tendon in his left wrist Friday night when he was severely cut by the skate of Brent Burns midway through the third period.

Blake is scheduled for surgery on Monday in Los Angeles. Hereceived sutures Friday night at UCI Medical Center and was releasedfrom the hospital Saturday.

The Orange County Register, citing team officials said that Blake is expected to miss three months while recovering.

Shortly after a faceoff, Blake fell to the ice and continued to battle for the puck when Burns inadvertently stepped on Blakes wrist with his right skate.

After the game, Burns said on his Twitter account,Hoping Jason Blake is okay and back soon Scary accident.

Blake, 38, is in his 13th NHL season and third in Anaheim.
