
Eric Weddle isn’t coming to Oakland. Or staying in the AFC West. Or on the West Coast, for that matter.
The former All-Pro safety agreed to terms with the Baltimore Ravens, his agent confirmed Monday morning. Weddle will sign a four-year contract worth up to $29 million with $9 million in the first year and $13 million guaranteed.

The former Chargers playmaker narrowed his selections to four teams near the end of last week. The Raiders were in that group, which, per the Union-Tribune, also included the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys.
The Raiders had interest in Weddle, though their offer didn't go as far as the Ravens' desire to acquire the three-time Pro Bowler.
Weddle analyzed four teams over the weekend, looking for the best fit in terms of scheme, contract value competitiveness and overall fit.
Weddle chose the Ravens from that group, without visiting any of the four teams.

The Raiders will continue their search for safety help. They currently have Nate Allen under contract. Cornerback TJ Carrie is also available to play safety after faring well in a run at the position after Allen got hurt last season.
There are quality options remaining in free agency and a deep draft class.
