
SANTA CLARA -- Cornerback Shawntae Spencer, who did not practice Wednesday and Thursday due to a toe injury, was back on the field Friday during the portion of practice that is open to the mediaIt is not known whether Spencer will be the 49ers' third cornerback, the role he played the past two games, in the Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But his odds of playing appear to have improved dramatically.
Nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga, who is not expected to be available for Sunday's game, has not been seen at the 49ers' practice facility this week after being diagnosed with a staph infection.Coach Jim Harbaugh will speak with the media after practice Friday, at approximately 1:45 p.m. Harbaugh, who has tried to instill a blue-collar mentality in his team, was wearing a blue work shirt during practice.
