SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers have fielded calls from multiple teams inquiring about No. 3 quarterback C.J. Beathard's availability as Tuesday's NFL trade deadline approaches, a source told NBC Sports Bay Area.
The 49ers have been offered draft pick compensation in the “sixth-round range,” the source said Sunday. The 49ers are not inclined to make that deal for Beathard, whom the team selected with a compensatory pick in 2017 at the end of the third round (104th overall).
Coach Kyle Shanahan has a high opinion of the three quarterbacks on his roster, with Jimmy Garoppolo and Nick Mullens ahead of Beathard. Shanahan and general manager John Lynch do not want to deal away one of those players without receiving what they consider fair compensation in return.

Beathard started 10 games in his first two NFL seasons with the 49ers, and has completed 57.3 percent of his passes (225 of 393) for 2,682 yards and 12 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. He was inactive for the 49ers’ first seven games this season, including Sunday’s contest against the Carolina Panthers.
The NFL trade deadline comes to a close Tuesday at 1 p.m. PT.
