
The Raiders are still searching for a permanent home after things didn’t work out regarding a possible return to Los Angeles. The Rams were approved to play the 2016 season in that market, and the Chargers could join them right away or in the near future.
Raiders owner Mark Davis is exploring his options for a long-term stadium solution inside the Bay Area market and beyond, but he also must lock down a place to play next season.
That process is underway.

The Raiders have started discussing a short-term lease to play the 2016 season in Oakland at O.co Coliseum, CSNCalifornia.com learned on Thursday afternoon.
An agreement is not in place at this time.
The Raiders have played the last two seasons on one-year lease extensions at O.co Coliseum, and securing another one gives the Silver and Black maximum freedom to explore future options inside and outside the market. They would again be free agents this time next year, giving them flexibility to explore new stadium options in the East Bay or elsewhere.
After the NFL’s LA relocation meeting in Houston earlier this month, Davis wouldn’t commit to an Oakland return in 2016.

The Raiders would have to apply for relocation outside the Bay Area or LA -- they’ve been approved for LA relocation should the Chargers unexpectedly decline their option to join the Rams -- before the NFL’s relocation window closes on Feb. 15. That application would also have to be approved by NFL owners with a three quarters majority.
