A source tells CSNBayArea.com that ground-breaking on the new San Francisco 49ers stadium is scheduled for April 19.
With the incentives for opening the stadium for the 2014 season, my bet is that the 49ers will play 2012 and 2013 in Candlestick Park before calling Santa Clara the team's permanent home. And, yes, the 49ers will remain as the San Francisco 49ers.According to the San Jose Mercury News, the event will be open to the public, and details will be released soon by the team.
