On Thursday afternoon, new 49ers GM John Lynch introduced new 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.
In his opening remarks, the 37-year old coach took a trip down memory lane.
"Gotta start out by thanking Jed and the whole York family," Shanahan began. "Giving me this opportunity -- it's a dream come true, and it's not just an opportunity to be a head coach, but to be a head coach at a place like this where you talk about Bill Walsh, you talk about George Seifert, Steve Mariucci, Jim Harbaugh -- you can go down the line with the coaches..."

Harbaugh led San Francisco to three straight NFC title games from 2011 to 2013, including a trip the Super Bowl in the 2012 season.
The 49ers and Harbaugh "mutually parted ways" after the 2014 campaign.
Shanahan's father, Mike, was the 49ers offensive coordinator from 1992 to 1994.
After the 49ers won the Super Bowl in January 1995, the Broncos hired Mike Shanahan to be the team's head coach.

"Talking about the 49ers though -- it's always been a special part of my heart," Kyle Shanahan said on Thursday. "I moved out here in sixth grade and I moved away from here to move to Denver at the end of my freshman year of high school ... I have a very high expectation of what I've always thought this franchise is, and that's the best franchise in sports."
