SEATTLE -– Richard Sherman was on the minds of his former teammates Sunday.
Sherman made his return to Seattle as a member of the 49ers, and his former Stanford and Seahawks teammate had a special surprise after the first touchdown in Seattle’s blowout victory.

“That was a tribute to my boy,” Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin said of Sherman.
Baldwin played the role of Sherman in a touchdown celebration that was a reenactment of Sherman’s finest moment of his seven seasons in Seattle.
In January 2014, Sherman helped send the Seahawks to the Super Bowl with a leaping tip of a Colin Kaepernick pass intended for Michael Crabtree in the end zone. Linebacker Malcolm Smith, who also now plays for the 49ers, made the game-clinching interception in the NFL Championship. The Seahawks held on for a 23-17 victory. Two weeks later, Seattle blasted the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.
On Sunday, after Russell Wilson’s first touchdown, a 4-yard pass to Jaron Brown in the first quarter, the Seahawks held their first of many celebrations.

Baldwin played the role of Sherman in a reenactment of the play. Seahawks wide receiver David Moore was in the role of Smith.
“I know all you guys think that we’re robots and that we’re not humans, and that we don’t have emotions,” Baldwin said. “But when you spend so much time with guys and doing what we do, day-in and day-out, it’s hard.
“You spend those days with guys that you love. Sherm is, obviously, one of those guys that has done so much for this organization that we thought it would be nice to give him a tribute and we had an opportunity to do so.
”I know it was kind of weird. We’re scoring, and he’s on the other team. We’re doing a tribute, but that was in our hearts this week.”
The Seahawks released Sherman in March while he was recovering from Achilles surgery. The 49ers signed him to a three-year, $27.15 million contract one day later.
