If you open up social media on an even semi-regular basis and wade into the waters of 49ers Twitter, you'll find a myriad of opinions about Jimmy Garoppolo, with some believing he should be given another year to prove himself and many others calling for the organization to find a new franchise quarterback in 2021.
Safety Jimmie Ward, in speaking with 95.7 The Game on Friday morning, explained why he hasn't lost faith in Jimmy G as the 49ers' QB1.
"I played against Jimmy in college, and I said got faith in Jimmy," Ward told "The Morning Roast." "Jimmy this year has been battling injuries, which everybody on the team has been battling injuries so there has been a lot of moving parts, and there's going to be a lot more moving parts.

"I feel like he's been doing good this year, he's the quarterback and he's getting paid a lot of money ... and he just got us to the Super Bowl, so of course he's going to have a lot of pressure on him.
"I got faith in him, man, I feel like when he comes back he's going to get the job done."
Ward is just one of numerous teammates that have been asked questions about Garoppolo's future over the past year. The ankle injury Garoppolo suffered in a Week 2 win over the New York Jets never had the chance to properly heal, and running back Raheem Mostert told reporters Thursday that Jimmy G's injury is worse than just a standard sprain.
"Yeah, I've talked to guys and every guy is different," Mostert said. "Every guy has a different situation. Some are more severe than others, like Jimmy's for example. He was dealing with a high ankle [sprain], but I believe that it was a little bit more than that, and that's why he hasn't been able to play."

With just four games remaining, it's unclear if there will be another chance to see Garoppolo on the field in 2020. Coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Thursday that he doesn't see Garoppolo or star tight end George Kittle returning "anytime soon."
“I mean, those guys are working their tails off right now,” Shanahan said. “But they're still part of the rehab, just trying to get back and be a part of this, but it's not anytime soon right now."
Many fans already have begun looking both to the upcoming crop of draft prospects at the quarterback position, as well as potential free agent veterans or signal-callers that might be looking for a fresh start. But Ward and his teammates have remained steadfast in their belief in Garoppolo.
We'll find out this offseason whether general manager John Lynch and the organization share that belief.
