The 49ers won their Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions, 41-33, on Sunday, but it got a little dicey there at the end.
The near implosion occurred after San Francisco previously had been up 41-17 in the beginning of the fourth quarter.
However, the Lions weren’t having it.

Lions running back Jamaal Williams scored after the two-minute warning when linebacker Jason Cabina snagged an onside kick after it bounced off of 49ers tight end George Kittle.
Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus caught a pass from quarterback Jared Goff soon after to score again.

That was way too close for comfort, and in the end, the 49ers still suffered some injuries. Running back Raheem Mostert exited the game early with an injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers fear cornerback Jason Verrett might have torn his ACL.
