Staley compliments McGlinchey's performance in 49ers' win

Joe Staley had a much different tone on Twitter throughout Sunday night compared to the week prior. Winning fixes everything, and it certainly did for the former 49ers offensive tackle.

One player who Staley made sure to shout out was right tackle Mike McGlinchey. Staley and the McGlinchey formed a tight bond as 49ers teammates, and the third-year pro stepped his game up against the Los Angeles Rams in the 49ers' 24-16 win at Levi's Stadium.

McGlinchey entered the day with plenty of questions from outside critics, especially how he would match up against the Rams' defensive line and superstar Aaron Donald. McGlinchey couldn't have played much better. He earned Pro Football Focus' highest offensive grade from the game at 86.1 overall.

After his latest impressive performance, McGlinchey now has PFF's best run-blocking grade among tackles this season.

Donald finished the game with just two tackles and one QB hit. The 49ers' offensive line did a great job of containing perhaps the best defensive player in the NFL, and McGlinchey had a simple message for his critics after the win: "Still here."

Oh, what a week can do. During the 49ers' ugly blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 5, Staley was asking "What the hell is this??!" Now, the 49ers are back to .500 and Staley is back to watching his former team win games.

Everything feels right again.
