Three days after the 49ers placed Raheem Mostert on the reserve/COVDID list, the running back’s wife shared terrifying details regarding their son’s health.
On Thursday morning Devon, Raheem’s wife, announced on social media that their son needed to be taken to the hospital after contracting the virus and exhibiting severe symptoms.

SIGN UP HERE “If you think COVID is a joke, this is our sweet G man in an ambulance today after I called 911 because he was lethargic, skin was gray, lips were purple, and had a 103.5 temperature. I’m crying even as I’m typing this…this is all SO SCARY," Devon wrote on social media.
“We are thankfully back home, but my family is very much in the thick of it. I’ll update you more soon. But this is literally my CRY for you to take COVID seriously.”

Mostert was one of the first NFL players to cancel a public appearance at the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020. After a difficult decision made with his wife to not opt-out of the 2020 season, the running back appeared in eight games while dealing with multiple injuries.

Now, dealing with the virus firsthand, Mostert and his family are urging the public to take the virus seriously, especially as many have become more lackadaisical with their personal precautions.
The 49ers currently have six players on the reserve/COVID list with Mostert joining K’Waun Williams, Jimmie Ward, Dontae Johnson, Ambry Thomas, and Deommodore Lenoir.
Mostert currently is on injured reserve after undergoing knee surgery to address chipped cartilage in his left knee.
