Garoppolo's two rushing TDs place him among 49ers greats

The 49ers' starting quarterback got it done on the ground today, scoring two rushing touchdowns in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

No, we're not talking about Trey Lance.

Jimmy Garoppolo started for the 49ers on Sunday and played well in San Francisco's 33-22 win over the Bears. Completing 17-of-28 passes through the air for 322 yards, it was two touchdowns on the ground that capped off Garoppolo's solid day.

An 83-yard completion from Garoppolo to wide receiver Deebo Samuel midway through the third quarter was originally ruled a touchdown before the call was overturned after Samuel stepped out at the Chicago 2-yard line. Three plays later, Garoppolo scored his first rushing touchdown of the game.

Garoppolo found the end zone once again late in the fourth quarter, to extend the 49ers' lead over the Bears.

His unique statline Sunday afternoon placed Garoppolo among legendary 49ers quarterbacks.
