Another year, another 49ers rookie receptions record.

Brandon Aiyuk on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys broke Deebo Samuel's 49ers record for the most receptions by a rookie in franchise history. Aiyuk entered the day 50 receptions on the season. Samuel's previous record of 57 receptions was broken in the fourth quarter when Aiyuk took a short pass from Nick Mullens and ran for five yards.

Aiyuk finished the day with nine receptions for 73 yards. He now has 59 receptions and 733 yards over 11 games this season. He is 195 yards away from breaking Jerry Rice's rookie record.

The No. 25 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft also scored his seventh touchdown of the year earlier in the game, which is one more than Samuel scored last season as a rookie.

Samuel broke Gene Washington's 50-year rookie record last season. Washington hauled in 51 receptions for the 49ers all the way back in 1969.

When healthy, the 49ers should have two star receivers for years to come.
