49ers snap count: Kittle produces big results in limited time

Kyle Shanahan suggested he had a number in mind for how many plays 49ers tight end George Kittle would be on the field in his return.

But Shanahan did not want to divulge his plan because -- as everyone knows -- things can change and he did not want to be held to a certain number.

But if the number he had in mind was 50 percent of the team’s snaps, Shanahan nailed it in the 49ers’ 20-12 upset victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Kittle played 28 of the 49ers’ 56 offensive plays. He was the game’s leading receiver with 92 yards on four catches.

“The game was moving pretty fast out there the first half,” Kittle said. “It slowed a little in the second half, sort of got a feel for it. I only had about 10 plays so I was able to let rip in the second half and it was fun to be out there.”
