The 49ers continued a streak of their own with their game-opening touchdown drive Sunday, and ended one of the Patriots' in the process.
San Francisco used nine plays to go 75 yards on the first drive of the game at Gillette Stadium, capped by a 3-yard touchdown run by Jeff Wilson. It marked the second consecutive week the 49ers scored a touchdown on their opening drive after they did the same in their Week 6 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

It also marked the first time the Patriots had given up a touchdown on the opening drive of a home game in more than four years.
Wilson's score broke a streak of 32 consecutive regular-season home games that New England had gone without yielding a TD on the opening drive, and was the first the Patriots had allowed since the Buffalo Bills' 12-play, 65-yard TD drive on Oct. 2, 2016.

There's a 49ers connection to both bookends of the Patriots' streak, as Jacoby Brissett started that game against the Bills for New England in place of an injured Jimmy Garoppolo. The Bills went on to win 16-0 in what was the fourth and final game of Tom Brady's Deflategate suspension.
