"I think with Chip Kelly, it brought life to Colin Kaepernick," Rice told Damon Hack of the Golf Channel. "You look at Chip Kelly and what he was trying to implement in Philadelphia -- with (Mark) Sanchez, (Nick) Foles, and (Sam) Bradford -- those guys were more like pocket passers.
"Now you got that read-option with Colin Kaepernick, a guy that can get outside the pocket and a guy that can extend plays, and he's also gonna be a threat to run.
"It could be a good marriage for them."

On Thursday Steve Young said, "If somebody is gonna resurrect Colin Kaepernick, it's going to be Chip Kelly."
Young threw 92 touchdowns to Rice (the second most by a QB-WR combo in NFL history), who joked about being in good enough shape to play for Kelly in 2016.

"You talk about route-running -- I would be precise on everything," Rice said while laughing. "I guarantee you this -- if I was with the San Francisco 49ers, he (Kaepernick) wouldn't have to hold on to the ball."
