The 49ers have reported agreements with quarterback Brian Hoyer, receiver Pierre Garçon and Goodwin. The team also appears likely to sign Pro Bowl fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Free-agent contracts are not allowed to be signed until Thursday at 1 p.m., at the beginning of the new league year.
The 49ers and Buffalo Bills were the finalists for Juszczyk, according to a league source. The Bills have a contract agreement in place for Atlanta fullback Patrick DiMarco, which would seem to indicate Juszczyk is heading to the 49ers.
Goodwin, 26, is a four-year NFL veteran who caught a career-high 29 passes for 431 yards and three touchdowns last season with the Buffalo Bills. He was selected in the third round of the NFL draft.
Goodwin made the 2012 U.S. Olympic team in the long jump. He qualified with a jump of 27 feet, 4 ¼ inches at the Olympic trials. At the Olympics, he jumped 26-7 and finished in 10th place.
