Report: With Neal injury, Falcons to work out ex-49ers FS

The Falcons saw their first-round pick and safety Keanu Neal sustain an injury in a preseason loss to the Dolphins, which will cause him to miss some time.

With Neal set for minor surgery followed by a 3-4 week recovery, Atlanta is acting fast, and will reportedly work out free-agent safety Dashon Goldson, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Goldson, 31, is reportedly working out for the Falcons on Saturday.

Goldson was a two-time Pro Bowler and one-time first-team All-Pro for the 49ers. He originally entered the league with San Francisco as a fourth-round pick out of Washington in 2007.

Goldson had brief stays with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington football team from 2013-15.
