The 49ers are moving forward with a young receiving corps, and have allowed veteran wideout Anquan Boldin to linger in free agency.

On Thursday, though, a favorite emerged for Boldin, as the Saints are reportedly 'making the strongest push to sign him,' according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Boldin, who turns 36 years old in October, spent the last three seasons with the 49ers.

Though he is coming off one of the worst seasons of his pro career, Boldin surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in two of his three years with the 49ers, coming at the ages of 33 and 34.

The top of the Saints' receiving corps consists of Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead and speedy Ohio State product Michael Thomas, whom the team drafted No. 47 overall in 2016.
