Peter King of Sports Illustrated is reporting that former 49ers head coach Steve Mariucci is interested in taking up the reins as San Diego Chargers head coach.
Mariucci was with the 49ers from 1997-2002 and led San Francisco to the NFC Championship game in his first season as head coach. He has been an analyst for the NFL Network since being fired from the Detroit Lions head coaching position in 2005
