Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson concluded head-coaching interviews with the 49ers and Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and the New York Giants reportedly could be next in line.
The Giants are expected to request permission to speak with Jackson on Monday, Michael Silver of NFL.com reported on Sunday. Tom Coughlin resigned as Giants head coach on Jan. 4.

A league source told CSNBayArea.com that the 49ers did not make an offer to Jackson after their five-hour meeting Sunday morning in Cincinnati. Silver reported the Browns did not make an offer, either.
Earlier in the day, a source said the 49ers were not expected to make a hire Sunday but the organization expects the new coach to be in place “fairly soon.”

Jackson is the fifth known candidate to interview with the 49ers since the club fired Jim Tomsula last Sunday, just hours after the team’s season-ending victory over the St. Louis Rams. The 49ers finished 5-11 in Tomsula’s only season.
