
With 49ers running backs Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush dealing with injuries and two rookies serving as back-ups, the team reportedly brought in a veteran free agent running back for a workout Monday.
According to Pro Football Talk, longtime Saints running back Pierre Thomas tried out for the 49ers.
Thomas spent his entire eight-year NFL career in New Orleans, where he played in 105 games and rushed for 3,745 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Last season, the 30-year-old carried the ball just 45 times for 222 yards and two touchdowns.
Additionally, the 49ers also worked out center Samson Satele.
The 30-year-old Satele has played eight seasons in the NFL for the Dolphins, Raiders and Colts.
