Former 49ers running back Kendall Hunter reportedly worked out Tuesday with the Seattle Seahawks.
Hunter, who hopes to make a return from a torn ACL sustained in training camp last year, worked out last week with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN’s Field Yates, who also reported Hunter’s workout with the Seahawks.
The 49ers play the Seahawks on Sunday. The Seahawks have four running backs on their 53-man roster: Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, Thomas Rawls and Bryce Brown.

Hunter is ineligible to play for the 49ers this season, but can sign with any of the 31 other NFL teams at any time. The 49ers placed Hunter on injured reserve when the team made its cuts to 53 players before the start of the regular season.
Because the 49ers did not agree to an injury settlement with Hunter within five days of placing him on injured reserve, he is not eligible to play for the 49ers this season.
In three NFL seasons with the 49ers, Hunter gained 1,202 yards and seven touchdowns with a 4.6-yard average in 43 games as Frank Gore's primary backup.
