Ravens re-sign former 49ers CB Wright to three-year deal

Shareece Wright has re-signed with the Ravens on a three-year deal, the team announced Monday.

Wright would have been eligible for free agency, but opted to stay with the Ravens, with the chance to earn a starting role next season. Contract terms were not immediately disclosed.

The Ravens signed the 28-year-old Wright in October after he was cut by the 49ers. Wright did not make a good first impression in his Ravens’ debut, giving up two touchdown passes against this former team, the 49ers. However, Wright did not let that game shatter his confidence.

By the end of the season, Wright had clearly established himself as the team’s second-best corner, playing opposite Jimmy Smith, a close friend and former high school teammate. Wright and Smith have been working out together during the offseason.
