Allegiant Stadium construction just off the Las Vegas Strip has carried on during the coronavirus pandemic that has forced schools and non-essential businesses across the country to shutter on local, state and federal government orders.
One of the workers on-site building the Raiders new stadium tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement issued by the Mortenson-McCarthy construction companies on Wednesday obtained by multiple Las Vegas media outlets.
According to Mortenson-McCarthy, a joint-venture in charge of stadium construction, workers were adhering to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention guidelines on social distancing, so the worker diagnosed with COVID-19 was not in close proximity to other workers.

The worker who tested positive hasn’t been on the site since last week and will not return to work until cleared to return.
The area where the infected person worked was immediately shut down and sanitized. Stadium construction continues in other areas of the project.

Construction is considered an essential business in Nevada, and the public health crisis isn't expected to delay the opening of the Raiders' new stadium in 2020.
