SAN DIEGO -- The Raiders have announced the signing of safety Jerome Boyd off the practice squad, and with a battered secondary, he figures to get a lot of reps in tonight's primetime game against the Chargers. The Raiders waived safety Chinedum Ndukwe to make room for Boyd.
Rookie cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke (hamstring) is out and free safety Michael Huff was in a walking boot on his right foot Wednesday after suffering a sprained ankle. He said he has to be feeling at least "30 percent" to play and gauged his health at 31 percent before the team's charter flight.Boyd was on the Raiders 53-man roster earlier this season before being waived on Oct. 18. He is perhaps best known for being the missing man on the field when the Raiders only had 10 players present for Huffs game-ending Immaculate Interception at Houston the day after Al Davis passed away.
