Raiders rookies report to NFL training camp for coronavirus testing

The Raiders are preparing for the franchise's first-ever training camp in Las Vegas.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic however, many NFL players, including Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, have expressed concerns over the league's lack of agreed-upon health and safety protocols with the NFL Players Association.

Nevertheless, the NFL's collective bargaining agreement allows for teams to have players report without the new measures in place. Raiders rookies are expected to report Tuesday, with quarterbacks and injured players joining them on Wednesday. Full rosters are scheduled to be in camp by July 28.

But players continue to stress the need not only for rigorous testing, but additional mandates to help protect players and team staff from contracting the virus.
