
The Raiders have released cornerback Stanford Routt, the team announced on its Twitter page on Thursday afternoon. Routt, 28, agreed to a three-year 31.5 million deal, but he restructured it in camp before the 2011 season to a five-year, 54.5 million deal with 20 million guaranteed.

The Raiders essentially saved 10 million today as Routt was due 5 million, plus another 5 million "signing bonus," this season.
