With the 81st pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders selected DeMarcus Van Dyke, defensive back from Miami.
Van Dyke was considered the fastest player in the draft, so it is no surprise that Al Davis and the Raiders targeted him, after selecting Darrius Heyward-Bey and Jacoby Ford in 2009 and 2010.

Van Dyke was clocked at 4.28 running the 40 yard dash in the combine.
College career: Played in 13 games as a senior, starting three, after getting benched. Spent time at left cornerback and in nickel packages. Had three interceptions and 10 pass break-ups in his career with the Hurricanes. Also ran track at Miami and ran a 4.25-second 40 at the Hurricanes Pro Day. He has the third-fastest 40-time in Combine history, behind Chris Johnson and Stanford Routt.Scouting report: Fast. Real fast. Fastest time at the Combine. But you probably already knew that. He's seemingly undersized to play a physical cornerback but his speed might make up for it. Did I mention he's fast? How he fits with Raiders: Consider this selection a shot across the bow of the S.S. Walter McFadden and Jeremy Ware, two cornerbacks drafted last year. Maybe new cornerback coach Rod Woodson saw something in him as he scouted the Miami secondary.
