ALAMEDA – Raiders rookie left tackle Kolton Miller aggravated a knee injury last week against the 49ers. He tried to return but didn’t stay long, unable to deal with a debilitating ailment that has impacted most of his season.
The Raiders are clearly worse without their first-round draft pick, and struggled to protect quarterback Derek Carr when he became unavailable.
Head coach Jon Gruden was encouraged by the progress made since that Thursday night game, so much so that he was a limited participant in Wednesday’s Raiders practice.
Miller’s bothersome right knee was well wrapped, with support on both sides of the joint. He also rocked a huge elbow brace on his right arm, assisting a new injury that must be handled.
Miller has proven tough despite these injuries, and is trying to prepare well for Sunday’s home game against the L.A. Chargers.
Left guard Kelechi Osemele was also removed from the 49ers loss with an aggravated knee injury, but was also limited in practice.
The Raiders didn’t have any player miss practice, though running back Doug Martin was added to the participation report with a hip injury suffered early against the 49ers.
NFL
Right guard Gabe Jackson has been limited most of the year with a pectoral injury, but was a full participant on Wednesday.
