The Richard Sherman of 2019 looks very familiar to Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.
Sherman has re-established himself as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks in the first half of the season with three interceptions as the 49ers remain the league’s only unbeaten team.
The veteran cornerback is a year healthier and another year removed from the Achilles injury that brought his time with the Seahawks to an end in 2017. The Seahawks released Sherman in the 2018 offseason. A couple of days later, Sherman signed with the 49ers.

Sherman spent the first seven seasons of his career with Carroll as one of the leaders of the defense.

“I think he’s playing great,” Carroll said of Sherman on a conference call with Bay Area reporters.
“He’s doing great stuff. There’s nobody that understands the game at his position better than he does. He’s savvy. He’s smart. He’s tough. He’s a playmaker. He’s doing everything just like he’s capable. I don’t see any drop off in his game at all.”

Carroll will get his chance to once again see Sherman in action Monday night when the Seahawks visit Levi's Stadium for a primetime matchup.
