The Patriots announced on Saturday that they have placed cornerback Tarell Brown on season-ending injured reserve with a foot injury.
Brown, signed as a free agent during Patriots training camp, had already been ruled out of the game Sunday against the Colts after missing two practices this week.
The foot issue has been a recurring one for Brown, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve at the end of last season as a member of the Raiders. Brown dressed for New England's Week 3 win over the Jaguars but was the only player who did not see any action.

Despite sitting against Jacksonville, Brown was the most often used Patriots corner through four games after Malcolm Butler. Lately, Brown had been one of the team's top nickel corners, seeing significant time in the slot against the Cowboys.
Without Brown's services on Sunday, the Patriots will lean on Butler, Logan Ryan, undrafted rookie Justin Coleman and perhaps recent waiver-wire pickup Rashaan Melvin. Safety Devin McCourty could also see some time as a corner.
Offensive tackle Cameron Fleming was promoted from the practice squad to take Brown's spot on the 53-man roster.
