NFL rumors: Raiders star Antonio Brown should be ‘OK in a few weeks'

For now, all the Raiders can do is sit and wait.

The excitement of training camp has been lessened by the ongoing Antonio Brown saga. The star receiver only has taken part in part of one practice since the Raiders arrived in Napa, and hasn't been present for almost a week as he deals with a reported case of "extreme frostbite" on his feet due to a cryochamber mishap.

While the Silver and Black undoubtedly wish their prized offseason acquisition was 100 percent, he shouldn't be on the shelf for too long. A source close to Brown told Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman the seven-time Pro Bowler will "be OK in a few weeks."

Of course, the team has been mum on the actual status of Brown's feet and what the particular ailment is.

Former NFL team doctor David Chao is of the mind that Brown doesn't actually have a case of frostbite, but rather has "macerated feet" or a form of trench foot that causes an infection, and then exacerbated the problem by going into a cryochamber with said moist feet.

At any rate, it appears Brown won't be back on the football field for a little while and that's bad news for a Raiders offense that is hoping to find continuity during camp.

The Raiders open the season against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 8 at the Coliseum.
