NFL rumors: Former Broncos first-round pick Shane Ray visits Raiders

The Raiders are desperate for help rushing the passer. There's a Khalil Mack-sized hole there and the Silver and Black are casting a wide net.

On Tuesday, Oakland brought in former Broncos edge rusher Shane Ray, per the NFL's transaction wire.

Ray, 25, was the No. 23 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He recorded 12 sacks through the first two years of his career, but his production has significantly declined the past two seasons.

Ray has played in only 19 games in the last two years and has just two sacks to his name.

The Raiders and Ray have a history beyond being AFC West rivals, too. Ray made his feelings clear in 2015 when the Raiders signed Aldon Smith.

Ray tweeted, and has since deleted, "Glad somebody giving aldon a chance. Too bad its the raiders though........" He then followed with a jab at Raiders fans, tweeting, "For all the raiders fans salty about my last tweet. Idc I don't like you lol."

After ranking last in the NFL with only 13 sacks in 2018, the Raiders are clearly putting the past away with Ray and hoping he can find his first-round talent again.
