Antonio Brown is a loose cannon, but he is not stupid.
In the wake of the practice altercation with Raiders general manager Mike Mayock in which Brown reportedly called the GM a "cracker" and threatened to punch him, Brown reportedly has issued an apology, ESPN's Josina Anderson reported.

SIGN UP HERE The Raiders reportedly plan to suspend Brown in the wake of the altercation. If the Raiders do suspend Brown for conduct detrimental to the team, they could void the remaining $29 million of guaranteed money owed to the receiver and cut him without penalty.
With the thought of losing $29 million hanging over his head, Brown reportedly thought better of his actions and tried to mend the relationship Friday by offering an apology to his team.
The issue between Brown and Mayock stemmed from two fines the Raiders GM levied against the star for missing practice and a walkthrough while Brown dealt with his frostbitten feet and helmet grievance. Brown didn't like his checkbook being dinged so he apparently sought to take it up with the GM at practice.
Following the altercation, Brown unfollowed the team and quarterback Derek Carr on Instagram and it appeared his time in Oakland might end before he even stepped foot on a field.

But with the contract he and his agent Drew Rosenhaus negotiated now hanging in the balance, Brown apparently decided to issue a mea culpa in hopes of staying on the team and earning the guaranteed money he fought so hard to secure.
Brown's had a tumultuous preseason and Rosenhaus pointed to the change in culture as a reason for the antics, saying it's hard to adapt to a new environment immediately and that Brown was working to fix his relationship with the team and settle in.

We'll see how far the apology goes, and if he really means to fix what he's broken.
