It feels like Tom Brady and the New England Patriots just hoisted the Lombardi Trophy, but believe it or not, football season is right around the corner.

And we could be in for an exciting fall in the Bay Area.

With quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo expected to be fully healthy, expectations are sky-high for Kyle Shanahan's club in 2019, and now we know who the 49ers will face first.

In the preseason, at least.

The NFL released the preseason schedule Tuesday, and the 49ers will face three AFC West foes before the real games begin, with the "dress rehearsal' game coming in Kansas City against the Chiefs.

Week 1 -- Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers (Time/Date TBD)
Week 2 -- San Francisco 49ers at Denver Broncos (Aug. 19 at 5 p.m.)
Week 3 -- San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs (Time/Date TBD)
Week 4 -- Los Angeles Chargers at San Francisco 49ers (Time/Date TBD)

As for the regular season schedule, we know who the 49ers will play we just don't know the order yet.
