Kyle Shanahan's team went East for a crucial Week 13 battle with the red-hot Ravens. The sides traded blows all afternoon in a rain-soaked battle at M&T Bank Stadium, but Baltimore eked out a 20-17 win to win its eighth game in a row.
With the loss, the 49ers dropped to 10-2 and now will need the Seahawks (9-2) to lose to the Vikings (8-3) on "Monday Night Football" to keep from falling from the No. 1 seed to the No. 5 seed in the NFC playoff race. Even if the Seahawks do lose, the 49ers still will need to beat the Saints in Week 14 in order to stop New Orleans from jumping them for the No. 1 seed.

The Saints (10-2) are slotted in the No. 2 spot, as the 49ers currently have the tiebreaker over them with a better NFC record.
The Packers (9-3) are in the No. 3 spot after beating the Giants, and the Cowboys, who are 6-6 after losing to the Bills on Thanksgiving, are the No. 4 seed as the NFC East leaders.
Seattle and Minnesota currently occupy the Nos. 5 and 6 seeds, respectively.

The 49ers remain atop the NFC, but that could change Monday night. If the 49ers slide down to the No. 5 seed, they would be looking at traveling to Dallas to face the Cowboys in the NFC wild-card round if the playoffs started next week.
