It's Wide Receiver Week in Santa Clara, as the 49ers continue to get acquainted with players at a position of need.

One day after hosting Arizona State wideout N’Keal Harry of Arizona State, the 49ers were scheduled to meet with A.J. Brown of Mississippi and Deebo Samuel of South Carolina at the team’s facility, according to the NFL Network.

Unless there is a big run on wide receivers near the end of the first round, the 49ers are likely to have plenty of options from which to choose in the second round. The 49ers own the No. 36 overall draft pick.

The 49ers are in search of a wide receiver to start. Dante Pettis. Kendrick Bourne, Marquise Goodwin and Jordan Matthews will also compete for roles on the team, along with slot receivers Trent Taylor and Richie James.

While Brown’s teammate, D.K. Metcalf, is widely considered the top receiver in the draft, Brown was Ole Miss’ top pass-catcher during their time together.

In his final two years of college, Brown (6-foot, 226 pounds) caught 160 passes for 2,572 yards and 17 touchdowns. Metcalf (6-3, 228) 65 receptions for 1,215 yards and 12 touchdowns during that same period of time.
