SANTA CLARA -- Coach Jim Harbaugh returned to work Wednesday to prepare for the 49ers' season opener against the Green Bay Packers one day after the birth of 8-pound, 8-ounce Jack."My wife, Sarah, great job, gold medal for timing," Harbaugh said following the 49ers' walk-through practice. There was some anxiety whether the birth of the couple's third child would come while the 49ers were on a road trip. The 49ers are scheduled to travel Friday to Green Bay."My wife would've understood, too," Harbaugh said. "She wants us to win, too. Young Jack wants to win. They'd understand. It was great to be there for them both. . . . Wild horses couldn't have dragged us away from this game coming up this Sunday."He came 10 days early, which is to be expected. The good ones come in early.""Jack Jr." is named after Harbaugh's father, he said. Jack was born Tuesday at 1:27 p.m."Also, I think it bodes well for the 49ers," Harbaugh said. "It's a good luck to come, perhaps, Jack Jr. being born on the fourth day of the ninth month of this year."
Harbaugh has three children from a previous marriage.
