Moss makes most of his first-half chances

GREEN BAY, Wisc. -- Randy Moss made the most of his opportunities in the first half against the Green Bay Packers.Kyle Williams got the starting nod for the 49ers at wide receiver, and Moss played just 10 of the 49ers' 32 first-half snaps.But Moss came through with three catches for 45 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown pass. Moss has 14 career regular-season touchdowns against the Packers and two more in the playoffs.Alex Smith completed 12 of 17 pass attempts for 132 yards. Michael Crabtree was the 49ers' leading receiver with five catches for 53 yards.Here was the playing time for each of the 49ers' eligible receivers, including linemen who reported eligible:Vernon Davis 32, Frank Gore 26, Michael Crabtree 24, Bruce Miller 18, Mario Manningham 13, Randy Moss 10, Kendall Hunter 5, Leonard Davis 4, Will Tukuafu 3.All-Pro linebacker Patrick Willis was on the sideline for 10 defensive snaps in the first half, as the 49ers countered the Green Bay Packers' use of multi-receiver sets with six defensive backs.Cornerback Perrish Cox entered in the 49ers' dime package. On the first and third series, Willis exited the game. In the second series, it was NaVorro Bowman who sat out a couple of plays in place of Cox.The 49ers led 16-7 at the half, thanks to David Akers' three field goals. Akers closed the first half with a 63-yard kick to tie the NFL record.
