The Oakland Raiders spent their fourth-round draft pick (195th overall) on Northern California native linebacker Miles Burris.

Known for his high motor and relentless energy, Burris spent his college days with the San Diego State Aztecs, but he grew up following his new team.

"I was football crazy so it was a lot of fun to be able to come out there and watch the Silver and Black," Burris said.

Bred in a football family, his work ethic and love for the game were ingrained early on.

"My dad was a college football player at Oregon State," Burris said. "And you know, he never pushed me into the sport, but he gave me a lot of help and encouragement in playing it and taught me a lot and how to play at a high level."

The two-time all Mountain West linebacker knows his spot isn't guaranteed as a fourth-round pick.

"I'm right on the fringe of a dream here," Burris said. "And I'm trying to go make it happen."
