McFadden on crutches and in walking boot

ALAMEDA -- Darren McFadden entered Sunday's game against Kansas City as the NFL's leading rusher.

He limped out of the game with two rushing attempts, four yards and a sprained right foot for his troubles. It was taped so thick after he returned for the locker room it resembled a mummy's appendage, this being the Halloween season and all. But after the game, McFadden was walking through the Raiders locker room, barefoot, and with barely a limp.

Today, he was seen at the Raiders facility with the foot in a walking boot and on crutches.

"Like I said, I'll know more as we go forward," said coach Hue Jackson. "Obviously, we're going to have the foot looked at and make sure structurally that it;s OK. I couldn't tell you today exactly what it is, other than what I said yesterday, that it's a mid-foot sprain.

"We'll take a great look at it as we go through this week. I'm hoping to get him back soon. I know one thing, one of my plans for him was to get him some rest this week, to get him back up and get him fresh because, obviously, when Darren is rolling, he's one of the best backs in this league. So, we need to get him healthy."

The bye week should help that healing process.
