ALAMEDA -- It was as out-of-character an outburst as it was demonstrative.
Darren McFadden, who no doubt has had a frustrating season, jumped up out of the pile, ripped his helmet off, screamed a few choice words to no one in particular and stormed off the field before plopping himself onto the Raiders bench. He was later approached and calmed down by fullback Marcel Reece and running backs coach Kelly Skipper.
McFadden had just been dropped for a two-yard loss on third-and-1 from the Kansas City 30-yard line with about 11 minutes to play in the second quarter Sunday.

"It was just one of those things (where) emotions got a hold of me," McFadden admitted to reporters Wednesday. "Third-and-one, you want to get the first down as a running back."
Instead, the Raiders settled for a 50-yard field goal from Sebastian Janikowski and a 6-0 lead in a game the Raiders would eventually win, 15-0.
Plus, it turns out McFadden was upset about more than getting stuffed on the run; he did not particularly like the play call of running a sweep on such a short yardage situation.
"I'd rather just go straight ahead on a third-and-one call," McFadden said.

Then again, McFadden has always been better at creating in space, rather than between the tackles, no? McFadden still ended up rushing for a game-high 110 yards, on 30 carries.
