
SAN FRANCISCO -- Defensive end Ray McDonald will return to the 49ers lineup Sunday against the New York Giants after missing one game with a hamstring strain.McDonald is expected to start at left defensive end. He ranks sixth on the 49ers with 39 tackles, according to the stats compiled by the team's coaches. McDonald has recorded three sacks.Here are the list of inactive players for the 49ers and Giants:49ers inactives: Cornerback Shawntae Spencer, quarterback Scott Tolzien, receiver Brett Swain, fullback Moran Norris, offensive linemen Daniel Kilgore and Mike Person, and defensive tackle Ian Williams.Giants inactives: Receiver Jerrel Jernigan, cornerback Prince Amukamara, running back Ahmad Bradshaw, fullback Henry Hynoski, guard Mitch Petrus, defensive tackle Dwayne Hendricks, tackle James Brewer.Receivers Hakeem Nicks (hamstring) and Mario Manningham (knee) are both active for the game, along with former 49ers center David Baas, who returns to action after missing one game with a knee injury.
Former 49ers defensive back Rosey Taylor, 74, was in stable condition Sunday morning in a San Francisco hospital after falling from the stage at the 49ers Hall of Fame dinner Saturday night.Taylor traveled to the Bay Area from his home in New Orleans to participate in the 49ers alumni weekend. R.C. Owens and Roger Craig were inducted into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. 49ers Hall of Fame.Taylor slipped on the stage after the event when ex-49ers players got together for a photo. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported Taylor to the hospital with an undisclosed injury.Taylor played 34 games (14 starts) with the 49ers from 1969 to '71. He played 12 NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears, 49ers and Washington Redskins.
