Manningham inactive; Jacobs suits up for first time

SAN FRANCISCO -- Wide receiver Mario Manningham will be inactive for the 49ers Thursday against the Seattle Seahawks due to a shoulder injury.Meanwhile, Brandon Jacobs will make his 49ers debut after being inactive for the first six games of the season.Manningham, who started four games this season, sustained a right shoulder injury at some point in the 49ers' loss Sunday to the New York Giants. Manningham appeared to be in discomfort with limited range of motion when he worked out on the field approximately two hours prior to kickoff.Manningham ranks second on the 49ers with 24 catches for 258 yards and one touchdown.
Randy Moss, Kyle Williams and Ted Ginn will likely get increased playing time with Manningham out of action.Jacobs has not played in a game since he sustained a left knee sprain Aug. 18 in the 49ers' second exhibition game. In the offseason, he signed a one-year, 1.575 million signing bonus with the 49ers after the New York Giants released him.Left tackle Joe Staley was medically cleared to play in the game, and he will start. Staley sustained a mild concussion in the third quarter when New York Giants defensive back leveled him with a block as Staley was in pursuit of Antrel Rolle after his second interception.49ers inactives
