Lions trade Golden Tate to Eagles for third-round NFL draft pick

If the 49ers are going to trade wide receiver Pierre Garcon, they might want to move quickly, as wide receivers are being moved fast and furious ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

The Lions have sent wide receiver Golden Tate to the Eagles for a third-round draft pick.

The teams announced the deal at 10:45 a.m. PT on Tuesday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter was first to report the news.

Tate has caught 44 passes for 517 yards and three touchdowns in seven games this season.

The Lions-Eagles trade comes shortly after the Broncos traded four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to the Texans. Denver is receiving a fourth-round pick and seventh-round pick in return for Thomas and a seventh-round selection.

One week ago, the Raiders traded Amari Cooper to the Cowboys for a first-round pick.
